Side Walk Sunday's invite
Humans inherently crave community. However, our society currently rewards the opposite, by keeping the working population scared of one another and separated by material conditions and class relations. Competition, comparison and reinforcing social norms are the drivers behind what creates distance between humans in situations of need. This separation has made injustice and equity complex for many that would have the time to advocate or help.
Companies, governments and institutions strive to reward complacency and control people with the reinforcement of punishing those who resist exploitation. Dehumanization is the key to make people not see the ones around them not doing well, and to instead blame them for their struggles.
Here at The People’s Medic we strive to see, to bring awareness, and to bring relief or assistance to all we can.
We invite you to see. We invite you to spend time with us on Side Walk Sundays.
This is done by asking ourselves what we can do to help even the playing field for those whom society has failed, how we can assist by bringing relief to those that need it, and provide reliable resources to our community.
We encourage you to come and see for yourself how life is resilient and how it can actually thrive with kindness and a little help from those around us.
